I am a skillful, compassionate and empathetic counselor with a passion to instill a positive change among individuals who may be struggling with a diversity of conflicts. Some areas of my experience include depression, anxiety, substance abuse/addiction, eating disorders, mood disorders, trauma, obsessive-compulsive behaviors, grief and anger management. I enjoy working with a broad spectrum of clients ranging from adolescents to older adults. I obtained my master’s degree from Webster University and completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Tennessee with a bachelors degree in Psychology.
I use various therapeutic techniques unique to each client. I use different approaches to address client personalities and areas of concern in order to achieve the desired improvement and growth in those areas. I empower my clients with the skills to develop new thinking patterns and change undesirable behaviors through a variety of methods best for them.
As your counselor, I seek to provide a safe and trustworthy environment for you to openly share your feelings and reach your goals together in a united effort.
I am a trained Creative Arts Therapist with experience ranging from young children to adults, Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental disabilities, and chronic mental health issues. I completed both my Master of Arts in Clinical Art Therapy and Counseling and Bachelor of Science in Art Therapy from Long Island University, C.W. Post. While having a passion for making art, I always knew that I wanted to use my skills beyond being a professional artist. When I found the field of Creative Arts Therapy, I knew this would be my lifelong mission. It combines my love of all things creative, and my desire to help others help themselves. As a Creative Arts Therapist, I believe the use of creativity has a deeply emotional connection to ourselves and our psyche, making it an effective tool for therapy without always needing to say the words. I believe that art therapy is beneficial to all ages and provides a space for you to explore your capabilities, promoting self-esteem and personal success. Artistic expression allows for us to understand and organize our thoughts, feelings, and emotions in a way that is nonverbal and self-directed. As your therapist, I will provide support and guidance as you move through this emotional process.
